Growth has been the default modus operandi for so long it is almost unspoken. This talk challenges 'growth-default' along with other 'defaults' that inform product and design: masculine default, northern hemisphere default, english defaults etc. It is a call to action to challenge the utility of defaults that inform our work. In this talk, Ruby will draw examples from across the globe and show products moving beyond our current paradigms as well as those stuck in default thinking, while arming you with the tools you need to think differently about product design. It will cover things big and small that we can all do to create better products that align with more inclusive values.

The regenerative way forward – with the use of responsible technology

The regenerative business is a concept and approach to business that goes beyond sustainability and aims to increase positive impacts on the environment, society, and the economy. It focuses on restoring, renewing, and revitalizing natural and social systems while generating long-term value for all stakeholders involved. Instead of asking ‘what do I gain from it’, take a regenerative approach and ask, ‘how can I contribute’.

We can use responsible digital technology to leverage more sustainable and regenerative solutions, and with regenerative leadership we can get people involved and engaged in this huge transition. Trine Plambech uses real-life examples to illustrate the huge potential in working strategically with regenerative leadership, digitalization and user behavior to leverage sustainable and regenerative transitions in companies.

As the Director of Digital Sustainability, and head of the business area Digital Sustainable Transition at the Alexandra Institute, Trine is regarded as a thought leader in the field. She is among the first professionals with an education in Regenerative Leadership. She is a dedicated innovation consultant, advisor, and keynote speaker. She has many years’ experiences in digitalization and sustainability, and has helped a wide range of public and private organizations develop strategies for their sustainable and digital transformation.
