About the speaker

Jonny is Head of Design at Snook. For the last 10+ years, he has accumulated experience in service design, digital product design and user research, working with clients such as Terrence Higgins Trust, Royal Society for Blind Children, the BBC, the NHS, Manchester University, and Bentley. He believes that design can play a fundamental role in tackling social issues and, after moving from the commercial sector, Jonny’s focus has been primarily on projects that have a positive social impact. Jonny is an international speaker on the topic of design ethics.

In his spare time, Jonny hosts the Tech for Good Live podcast, loves creative writing and also fosters rescue kittens. The promise of regular kitten photos is the main reason that people tolerate his writing.

About the workshop: “Designing for Good: How ethical is your upcoming project?”

Everyone is talking about the need to design and build more ethical products and services. But how do we do that?
This practical and fun workshop will help you implement project ethics as part of your design and development process. This is a hands-on workshop, and you’ll be introduced to a variety of techniques and tools to help detect and consider unintended consequences, and to implement an ethical risk framework.
You might recognize the workshop facilitators Bex and Jonny from previous years – they have both been hosting the awesome Tech For Good Live podcast at UX Copenhagen since 2017! Jonny also gave a brilliant talk at UX Copenhagen in 2018: “Designing for Good and the Subtle Art of Not Killing Anyone”
