What is Accessibility, and Who Benefits From It?
Laura’s keynote will explore how to approach accessibility, and how we can build sites and apps that are better for everyone. We’ll look at making inclusive content, and how to use aesthetics to aid the usability of our content. You’ll walk away knowing why accessibility is so important, and how you can make improvements as soon as you’re back to work next week.
Laura Kalbag is a designer from the UK, and author of Accessibility For Everyone from A Book Apart. She’s one third of Ind.ie, a tiny two-person-and-one-husky social enterprise working for social justice in the digital age. At Ind.ie, Laura follows the Ethical Design Manifesto, and works on a web privacy tool called Better.

Laura works on everything from design and development, through to learning how to run a sustainable social enterprise, whilst trying to make privacy, and broader ethics in technology, accessible to a wide audience. On an average day, you can find Laura making design decisions, writing CSS, nudging icon pixels, or distilling a privacy policy into something humans understand.
